Dr.Hannah Shimko

Hannah is Communications and Policy Director for the Online Dating Association, the trade body for the online dating sector. She is an expert in communications, with a specialisation in public relations and public affairs. She has a keen interest in digital and technology public and government engagement, focusing on the impact of legislation and regulation on the online dating sector.

Prior to joining the Online Dating Association, she was Head of Policy and Communications for the Heritage Alliance, a membership organisation and trade body for the independent heritage sector in the UK. She spent 10 years working in the creative and cultural industries, working in film & television location management for Savills and an independent boutique agency, running a National Lottery Heritage Fund project, writing insight reports focused on the creative industries, running cultural events, and delivering communications consulting for tech start-ups. She also has a PhD from the University of Birmingham in Cultural Heritage, where her topic focused on the influence of film and television narratives on visitor experiences at heritage sites. When she is not working, Hannah enjoys walking and hiking, riding horses on Wimbledon Common, skiing, travelling, and enjoying everything London has to offer.

 

Sanjay Panchal

Sanjay is the founder of Elate, the anti-ghosting dating app. With over 15 years in consumer marketing, he's an expert in growth and customer acquisition and has worked with startups and some of the world's biggest companies, such as Google, P&G, News Corp and O2.

With Elate he’s taking on superficial swiping apps, a multi-billion dollar industry where half of all users aren’t satisfied. Recently launched in London, Elate has quickly grown to thousands of users, is praised for its focus on respectful dating and has been voted one of the best dating apps of the year by GQ, the Evening Standard and others.

 

Gus Badran

Investment manager (with 15 years’ combined experience in operations, product and business development within fast growing Climate/Cleantech and Technology) focusing on Cleantech, Industrial, Meditech and Technology companies who are seeking to raise venture and growth capital.

Graduated from Imperial College London in Material Science & Engineering and also received a post graduate diploma in Manufacturing: Management & Technology and Control Systems from the Open University and the University of Sheffield respectively.

Chairman and founder of the Innovation Investing Special Interest Group (IISIG) within the Chartered Finance Analyst (CFA) UK Society.

IISIG shares ideas and practices on the following:

  • How to identify disruptive innovation for a particular market or society.
  • How to invest and valuate start-ups and early stage companies.
  • How companies operate and managed.
  • Business case studies.
