For Beta or Worse? Applying the Active vs Passive Debate to Corporate Bond Markets

Tuesday 3 December 2024 | 18:00 - 20:30 | BNY, 160 Queen Victoria St, EC4V 4LA

This event has been organised by the CFA UK Fixed Income Special Interest Group in partnership with S&P Dow Jones Indices

Hello all,

CFA UK's Fixed Income Special Interest Group invites you to join its upcoming in-person guest speaker event and networking drinks at the offices of BNY on Tuesday 3rd December.

The debate between active and passive investment strategies has long been a hot topic, particularly in equity markets. But now, as passive investing takes off in fixed income, the spotlight is shifting to corporate credit.

In this session, industry experts Tim Edwards and Ben Ashby will showcase the merits of both strategies, helping you to dispel common misconceptions about the limitations of indexing in bond markets.

The discussion will give you an improved understanding of the practical, theoretical, and even theological arguments for and against passive investing in corporate bonds.
