Inclusion & Diversity Committee

Social inclusion is the process of improving the terms on which individuals and groups take part in society—improving the ability, opportunity, and dignity of those disadvantaged on the basis of their identity”, The World Bank.

CFA UK believes that the investment industry needs people from all backgrounds, so that the profession and the decisions it takes are truly reflective of the society that it serves.  Be part of an initiative to encourage the industry to open its employment doors wider and attract new talent from a generation of young professionals looking to be included.

Purpose and activities of the Working Group:

  • To raise awareness to CFA UK and I&D Network members [the Network] and the wider industry on socio-economic inclusion, what it means, the benefits, the successes and the challenges
  • To make strong connections with organisations already addressing the issues - both from an outreach perspective and those that have increased socio-economic diversity in their organisations - and linking them to the Network
  • Leverage connections with and work of the CFA UK Inclusion & Diversity Partner Programme where appropriate
  • To organise, coordinate and deliver webinars and live events in line with events delivery schedule.
  • CFA UK Events Team will provide a clear event delivery schedule for your group for H1 and H2
  • To drive growth of and online engagement with the Network on the topic through the curation and sharing of relevant content across social media, including twitter and Linkedin

Who are we looking for?

  • Members who through their background and experience and/or involvement in social inclusion and socio-economic inclusion initiatives in their firms understand the importance and need for social inclusion in our sector
  • Volunteers who would like to create, deliver and/or curate relevant content (social posts, blogs, video, webinars, live events)
  • Availability throughout the membership year and work to move ideas forward between meetings
  • Ability to work with a group of member volunteer to shape ideas
  • Understanding of what would interest the I&D Network

What you will gain:

  • Build your profile within the CFA UK network of volunteers, the wider membership and the industry
  • Develop leadership, communication and teamwork skills
  • Recognition for your contribution in shaping and delivering services to the membership
