It looks back at Q2 2025 and brings together research from a survey with over 1,000 business decision makers (SMEs and big UK corporates).
Key findings:
- 9 in 10 business leaders are looking to solve business problems with AI over the next 2 years (through improving data analysis, forecasting, or business intelligence, enhancing customer experience, and reducing operational costs)
- Last 12 months businesses have already invested, on average, £235k on AI and emerging technologies (large corporates - £400k; medium - £225k; small - £125k)
- 68% of business leaders are planing to increase AI investment levels in the next 12 months
- 39% see AI and digital technology skills as the greatest area of skills shortage in the UK workforce (52% for FS; 48% for IT&Telco; 51% for Tech)
- 42% plan to hire for AI-focused roles within the next 1 to 2 years
- On the benefits side - 32% have seen improved idea generation and innovation; 31% - better decision-making; 30% - improved customer experience and reduced operational costs
