Would like to share this photo, a runner up "Keeping 1.5 alive" 2023 Guardian Environmental Photo award.
The OS35 tanker partially sank after colliding with an LNG tanker in July 2021, which caused a bit oil spill. It then had to be beached on the east side of the Gibraltar Rock close to coastline. The salvage operators are on top of a sumergible tanker, carrying the bulk of the OS35. It was loaded with steel bars and carried more than 400 tons of fuel. The ecological and environmental damage caused by the oil spill is still being assessed.
