Yes I believe consumers are able to voice it through their purchase decisions. Example if no one is buying bottled water out of convenience (because it is 1000 times more energy intensive than drinking from filtered tap water) companies won't be selling that anymore.

Like you, I have been driving special occasions as times to have a wish list that includes 1 secondhand item and 1 experience. It's not easy and seldom goes to plan.
