Future of Money - working group members

The goal of this working group is to explore the fast-evolving ecosystem of payment systems, cashless society, the future of banking, the future of asset management, cryptocurrencies, blockchain technology, and the future outlook for digital assets. The challenge is to select topics, speakers and content which is relevant and of interest to our membership, either by being able to invest in these areas or to shape their views of the future.  

The group aims to deliver activity that engages with as much of CFA UK’s membership as possible. This is an exciting opportunity to deliver thought leadership to our members across many interesting facets of the Future of Money.  

Purpose and activities

The group is tasked with: 

• Curating relevant and topical content r with a focus around payment systems, cashless society, future of banking, future of asset management, cryptocurrencies, blockchain technology, digital assets and the future outlook 
• Creating or commissioning original content  
• Creating and collaborating in delivering in person events for CFA UK 
• Ensuring content is in line with CFA UK’s quality standards 
• Contacting subject matter experts requesting original submissions 
• Interviewing subject matter experts over zoom to create video content 
• Identifying potential podcast guests 
• Proposing webinar topics and speakers around the area of Future of Money in line with events schedule
• You will get plenty of support from the staffed office and their expertise on operations, event delivery and managing virtual environments so that you can focus on ideas and delivering engaging connect for our members
• Working closely with Head of Professional Learning and Events Team to ensure the best content delivery.

Who are we looking for?  

• Volunteers working in a fintech firm or researching fintech solutions with payment systems, cashless society, future of banking, future of asset management, cryptocurrencies, blockchain technology and application, digital money, Central Bank Digital Currency and future outlook  
• Volunteers with an interest in emerging technology, convergence of emerging technologies and/orAI, who are passionate about these topics and want to spread the word about them. 
• Volunteers with strong connections to the fintech industry 
• Availability for around six meetings throughout the membership year plus conference calls and work to move ideas forward between meetings 
• Ability to work with a group to shape ideas
• Understanding of what would interest the membership around this topic area.

• Members will participate in a personal capacity and not as representatives of their employer.
