Social risks and opportunities in investments: Emerging and Developed Markets by occupational pension schemes - working group members

Earlier this year, the Department for Work & Pensions (DWP) published a Call for Evidence seeking views on pension trustees’ approaches to social factors and resulting risks and opportunities in Emerging Markets (EM) for their schemes. 

A CFA UK working group wrote a letter in response under the supervision of CFAUK’s Pension Expert Panel.  CFA UK are now are seeking to recruit volunteers to join some of the members of the earlier working group and help recycle their work into a thought leadership paper whilst also expanding the coverage to also include Developed Markets (DM). 

The purpose and activity of this working group is to:

• Write a thought leadership paper on social risks and opportunities in both EM and DM using CFA UK’s response to the DWP’s Call for Evidence as a base
• Reflect the views of CFA UK’s members and the investment profession in that response

Who are CFA UK looking for?

• Members with day-to-day experience of investing in DM
• A diverse Working Group across different industry sectors, asset classes and geographies
• Strong writing and communication skills
• Availability for c.8hrs/month from March 2022 to October 2022.

• Purposeful participation in a group aiming to write a thought leadership paper on social risks and opportunities in investments both in DM & EM
• Networking with and benefiting from the professional experience of four senior members of CFA UK’s PEP and other CFA UK members
