CFA UK Ambassador

CFA UK Ambassadors are prominent representatives of the investment community in firms seen as strategic allies to CFA UK. An Ambassador stands out as a connector with breadth and depth of industry contacts and perspectives. They work both as in-firm representatives and as community leaders working to build a better investment profession.

 Responsibilities

• Ambassadors support their colleagues to connect with others within their firms and develop as professionals
• Ambassadors regularly share information about CFA UK initiatives with their colleagues
• Ambassadors support CFA UK to build a better investment profession by facilitating strategic connections
• Ambassadors actively learn about all aspects of CFA UK (membership, events, education, qualifications) to be the go-to person within their firm for all CFA enquiries
• Ambassadors act as a conduit to CFA UK and Institute for feedback from colleagues

What will you do:

• Build a community in your firm of colleagues interested in any aspect of CFA UK, whether they are existing members, CFA Program candidates, IMC candidates, ESG graduates or curious about how the society can help them. Use available channels in your firm (e.g. mailing list, intranet page, Slack channel) to create engagement between CFA UK initiatives and colleagues
• Attend regular workshops to increase knowledge about CFA UK and its activities
• Raise awareness of CFA UK’s activities, qualifications, advocacy and volunteer opportunities through regular communication with your community
• Help CFA UK identify contacts for thought leadership and round table sessions
• Support connections between CFA UK and your learning & development, HR and senior management teams

 Who we are looking for:

• Great at relationship-building – enjoys meeting and getting to know new people; confident at reaching out to colleagues at all levels; sees the benefit in making strategic connections
• An excellent communicator - Able to regularly keep your internal network updated with CFA UK news in a way that gets engagement; responsive to CFA UK communications
• A champion of CFA UK– enthusiastic about CFA UK’s promotion of professionalism, integrity and high ethical standards.
• Not afraid of the limelight – willing to be promoted through CFA UK channels to the investment community as the go to person in your firm
• Willing to learn and develop – keen to learn about all aspects of CFA UK; and develop your own skills to improve your engagement in firm
• Engaged in firm initiatives –already active in firm initiatives such as I&D, mentoring, technical panels
• Ambassadors must be CFA UK members, be working in a firm with over 50+ employees and hold, as a minimum, either the IMC qualification or CFA Level 1.
