    hello Community,

I was very pleased to see Nick, CFA UK's CEO, mentioning our community on LInkedIn this morning! Check out Nick's post here (the post is about AI Impact in the investment space with some very interesting references)

Nick mentions a paper written by Tom Slater, here's the link from Baillie Gifford "AI isn't come for you, its coming for your mind!" Takeaways.

    • AI isn't just changing what we do, it's rewiring our brains as we use it, just like literacy did
    • We're trading deep thinking for quick answers without realising the cost to memory and judgment
    • The people who thrive won't be those who use AI most, but those who can still think without it

I think my mind is most useful thing about me :-))), so I am not ready to give it away, not just yet.

    A quote

Will AI replace us? It's the wrong question. AI will not simply replace human workers. It will change what human workers are. It is already reshaping how we learn, who we learn from, how we assess our own competence and what cognitive skills we develop or allow to atrophy. The humans who emerge from this process will not be the same humans who entered it.

The partnership between humans and AI that people like to imagine, one where each complements the other's strengths, is not a stable endpoint. It is a moving target, because one half of the partnership is being continuously reshaped by the other.

AI has already caused disruption to the job market and is changing job roles.  As roles evolve tasks will become more critical than titles. AI Governance and Ethics roles shall rise in my opinion. Certain human aspects like curiosity, compassion, creativity cannot be replaced. They will co-exist with AI. After all we humans are adept at adapting to change 😊
