WDI (Workforce Disclosure Initiative, set up by UK NGO ShareAction to track large firms' disclosures on social-related issues) noted in 2020 that
- 98% of assessed companies said D&I is a priority, but many failed to provide data to demonstrate progress in key areas.
- 75% provided a gender breakdown of employees, compared to 36% on ethnic composition.
- only 57% disclosed their gender pay gap and 4% their ethnicity pay gap. <o:p></o:p>
UK think tank The Work Foundation recently published a report highlighting that remote and hybrid working has benefitted disabled workers, with 85% saying they are able to be more productive from home. <o:p></o:p>
The 30% Club is a global campaign to increase diversity at board and executive committee levels. Its UK Investor Group is a coalition of asset owners and managers that are responsible for stewardship on behalf of their members and clients and are committed to fulfilling the 30% Club D&I targets. <o:p></o:p>
The group has published a guidance toolkit for FTSE 350 companies to help improve their D&I reporting, which includes examples of current best practice, and is designed for use in multiple jurisdictions. You can download the toolkit from the library.<o:p></o:p>
