Good morning community!
We look forward to seeing you tomorrow at BNY Mellon at our community networking event!
Today, this has caught my eye:
- The EU has formally simplified CSRD and due diligence rules (Omnibus package) to reduce reporting burden and boost competitiveness
- Scope narrowed (e.g. >1,000 employees threshold) and timelines relaxed
- But core principles (e.g. transparency, double materiality) remain intact
Investor angle:
- Do these mean that in the short term we will see lower compliance cost, less data coverage
- And in the long term - less regulatory clarity and reliance on voluntary leadership
- Is there a potential divergence between "minimum compliance" vs "best-in-class ESG performers"
How do all these make you feel? What are your expectations?
