Hi All
Has anyone looked at the standards, reporting, procurement actions and third party validation government are adhering to for Sustainability?
We see reports from the CCC of shortfalls in Government effort to get UK on track for national NZ commitments. Also legal challenge of failure to achieve targets. I am just wondering if anyone has looked at comparing the standards and disclosures government is making compared to those the private sector is starting to adopt. NAO report very much says the effort so far is disjointed and not good enough consistent with CCC. Government highlight lower GHG emissions but two major elements are purchased energy decarbonisation and outsourcing ICT and hence digital footprint to service providers. Property strategy seems to be being developed and identified as a major part of decarbonising the built environment. It would nice to hear about how government is acting and is it possible leading from the front or at least a close second to leading corporations who are adopting best practice. Anyone seen any good sustainability reports from any government bodies, national departmental or local?
