How well the global leadership community come together and structure mechanisms to accelerate the transition to Net Zero, save 1.5 and move to a sustainable and live-able set of planetary outcomes is one of the more difficult judgement calls longer term investors must consider. As it will affect how investments, particularly illiquid or unmovable assets will perform in the medium to long term.
So this Chatham house debate might be interesting. Its going to be live streamed so if your interested register (Link below). I will post some bullet points post the debate and it would be interesting to hear from anyone else who tunes in.
It would be interesting to poll how comfortable with the ability of co-ordinated policy and leadership driving change rather than a more ground up change with individual s and companies making positive change on a voluntary basis either driven by "Values" or by a believe that action now with be value creative in the long run.
My current feeling is hopeful but not confident, I'd like to see credible positive tipping points appearing for solutions and patterns of human behaviour that can have scalable impact.
