    OFFICIAL USE

    Hi everyone,

I am Martin Pospisil, I work as Principal Economist at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). We are a multilateral developmental investment bank and we use investment as a tool to build market economies in about 40 markets of Europe, Asia, and Africa. Since 1991 we have invested over €180 billion in more than 6,800 projects across three continents. We are a climate finance leader and actively support Ukraine and other countries affected by the war there.

My job is to assess impact of EBRD projects (ex-ante, ex-post) and report on results. I lead the work on EBRD Country Results Snapshots and the Bank's alignment with the Operating Principles for Impact Management.

Hope to connect to people with similar interests.

    Kind regards

    Martin

    Hi Martin,

    It's good to meet you.

thank you for sharing your and EBRD's information. I had a look at the country snapshots that you shared, however there isn't overlap between the cities that C40 and the EBRD support.

One of the EBRD's esteemed colleagues - Josue Tanaka - is sharing insights with C40 to build out the climate finance aspects. You may know Josue, hence I'm mentioning him as it's often a small world.

I trust there will be areas to speak about as EBRD is a stalwart in the climate finance arena.

    Best Regards,

    Anita

    Dear community members,

I am Marina Marchand. I am native French but lived most of my life in the UK. I work in the asset management industry as a listed Equity PM. I am a bottom-up fundamental investor, and companies corporate governance and social responsibilities policies have always been a critical focus when researching and investing in a firm.

I most consistently started to integrate ESG and sustainability accounting in my investment process in the last 3 years and after studying CFA ESG. I particularly enjoy engaging with companies on their sustainability strategy. I don’t feel I am a sustainability expert and I look forward to meeting investment professionals from which I will learn in the field.

    Best wishes
    Marina

    Hello Everyone,

I am Tanishq Jain. I am a founder of an ESG data startup-Dash, focusing on gathering quality data to connect private businesses with the wider financial markets. We aim to increase the compliance and engagement of private businesses with sustainability reporting and give them exposure to financial institutions, which will give them access to quality financial products and stay on track with their net zero commitments. We use deep tech capabilities, such as AI and scenario-analysis, to give valuable insights into a portfolio's ESG performance.

Excited to be a part of this community and hope to engage more with its members. Always up for a chat about how technological products like ours play a pivotal role for businesses and financial markets, to increase data quality and volume to enable better decision-making.

I am glad we have a new member from Fintech. Do you have by chance physical risk data (chronic and acute events data)? Would be interesting to know more on how exactly you utilize AI. Happy to connect on LinkedIn and chat about this.

    Hi CFA UK Community,

I am Sabrine Aouida, Chief Impact Officer of WeeFin, a french green fintech founded in 2018. WeeFin aims to raise standards of sustainable finance and making it the norm by helping professional investors (AM, AO, Wealth Manager, Asset Servicer...) to create more ambitious ESG strategies and by fighting against greenwashing. In that order, WeeFin developed a platform 100% dedicated to ESG that allows investors to centralize, manage their ESG processes and easily collaborate around them: connect and aggregate all sustainability data, create more ambitious ESG strategies and produce ESG reportings.

As the Chief Impact Officer at Weefin, my role is to ensure that our mission-driven approach aligns with the tools we offer our clients. This involves establishing and overseeing impact KPIs to assess the correlation between platform usage and the generated impact. My position enables me to act as a catalyst for change, guiding clients towards more ambitious sustainable strategies and higher industry standards. I also play a crucial role in representing and elevating Weefin's voice in the industry, thanks to our significant position in the market. We actively contribute to discussions and advancements in sustainability, using our influence to drive change and foster dialogue on sustainable development within the sector.

In 2024, our project at Weefin is to open offices in London and assist UK investors in developing more ambitious ESG strategies. We plan to participate in and host events, as well as engage directly with investors. We are available and look forward to having further conversations.

    Best regards

Welcome to the community, Sabrine! Nice to meet you.

Congratulations! Great to see growth and expansion of WeeFin to London.

Do you also provide legal advice to clients, or are you solely a data management platform?

How do you source ESG data? Do you expect clients to buy data from data vendors, or do you buy data yourself?

In terms of regulatory compliance, what regulations and jurisdictions you cover?

Would be nice to learn more about WeeFin.

    Hi everyone,

My name is Ivana Miladinovic, I am a Lead Analyst for a Small Cap Global equities fund, and have formerly been a Senior Analyst for a Large Cap Global fund at the same firm. I'm a fundamental, bottom-up investor who focuses on the long term and runs a very concentrated portfolio. I've also put together the ESG process for the firm as a whole, and have been involved in writing our RI policy and consulting on the classification of our funds as per SDR.

I have a significant amount of experience in Governance, as I've been voting on proxies for all companies under my coverage for years and engaged with companies quite regularly. I am also a holder of the CFA ESG Certificate, and am aiming to do the Climate/Impact Certificates soon.

I'm hoping to meet more people with similar interests and learn more about how I can deepen my ESG/Climate/Impact/sustainability overall knowledge and practice, as this is where my passion lies.

I've already met some of you directly, and am very much looking forward to meeting everyone else soon!
