    Good morning community and happy Friday!

    Happy Friday and a discussion about happiness great idea Aya.  All set now for a philosophical mind set going into the weekend to reflect on the nature of happiness.

     

    Butan's index and net carbon positive contribution story derives from the active preservation of an indigenous people and culture that has a different value set in its set of norms and values that are reflected in ( https://ophi.org.uk/policy/bhutan-gnh-index/ )the index.  Other measures of happiness have been developed by other countries but the construction varies and often reflects how those countries or designers of an index think about happiness and what people require to be happy.   Reminded me of a quote I saw from I think it was Captain Cook about the indigenous peoples he spent time with in the Pacific where he commented that they had nothing yet were the happiest people he had ever met.  Thought provoking as we confront the challenges of sustainability.  All metrics are vulnerable to the biases of the measurer so examining our biases and considering diverse points of view is an essential part of finding solutions that meet the challenge.

    Hello Community!

    Let's look at the bigger picture. Quantum supremacy. I feel like it doesn't get any bigger than this. Quantum computing is coming and it is inevitable. Silicon Valey people are racing to develop technologies harnessing the energy of the atoms.

    Mitio Kaku is a leading scientist in anything "quantum", one of the founders of the String Theory. Here's his fascinating talk that he gave to Google recently. It is mind-blowing how everything will change once quantum computers are here. 

    From curing cancer and Alzheimer, to having all the information you need on the lens of your eye, to creating nature based absolutely harmless fertilisers and to living to 200 years and longer. I sure am looking forward to a future like this!

    I hope you will find this video inspirational. It is from someone who in my view is one of the brightest minds of modern day times after Einstein.
