Quick Start Guide

My log in doesn’t work – how can I fix it?

  • Make sure you are using your CFA UK registered email address. If you can’t remember what this is, it will be the email to which you are sent all member communications like the weekly newsletter.

  • Forgotten passwords can be reset by clicking “Did you forget your password” on the login page.

  • Still not working?  Email volunteer@cfauk.org for help

How do I find my volunteer communities?

Once you successfully log in you will be directed to the home page:

On the right-hand side, there is a My Volunteer Communities button. Click on this and it will take you to the volunteer groups that you are a member of.

How do I use my volunteer group page?

Each volunteer group page is only accessible by members of that group. It’s a private space to have discussions, share documents, and schedule meetings and events.

When you post your first message on a discussion thread, the site will ask you to set your notifications settings. You can opt for receiving notifications for every message posted, or a daily digest or to opt out completely.

Basic admin folders have been added to your library to make organising your group documentation easy.  When you go to the library area of your group, click on the folders icon and you will be able to see the current folder structure.  Your group is free to arrange this area to suit your needs. This area is totally private so no one else can read or download your documentation.

What is the Volunteer Community and why is it important to me?

The Volunteer Community is a hub for all CFA UK volunteers.  The staff team and other volunteers use this space to share useful and important information with you and also ask for your help and support.

You will find all volunteer training and events listed here so can book on and keep developing at CFA UK.  The Volunteer Community is a private space only for volunteers and you must be logged in to view the content and RSVP to events.

How do I see the other volunteer groups?

When logged in, you can go to the All Volunteer Communities page https://connect.cfauk.org/communities and see a full list of current volunteer groups and their members.

You can also view groups by Group type:  Boards & Committees, Networks volunteer groups, Content volunteer groups, Education volunteer groups and Professionalism volunteer groups.

Why should I update my profile?

Every volunteer can update their profile for other volunteers and users to view. The information you wish to display is up to you but keeping your profile up to date will highlight your skills and interests to other volunteers which can foster great collaboration.

How do I find other volunteers?

There is a volunteer directory which allows you to search for a volunteer by name or by their volunteer group: https://connect.cfauk.org/volunteer/volunteer-directory

How do I manage email notifications?

Change your notification settings in Go to My Profile, My Account or in Email Preferences and Community Notifications.

How do I prevent other users from being able to directly message me?

Go to My Profile, Privacy Settings. Set Send Message option to NOBODY
