Purpose and Activities
The Black Professionals Working Group creates meaningful, high-quality content and events that support, elevate, and connect Black investment professionals within the CFA UK community. The group’s work contributes to CFA UK’s mission to foster an inclusive investment industry and provide opportunities for members to learn and grow
 
The Scope Includes:
  • Plan and deliver two impactful events per year that reflect the experiences, interests, and development needs of Black investment professionals. Past events include “Tim Campbell MBE: From The Apprentice to Enterprise Leader” and “An Evening with Sir Steve McQueen CBE.”
  • Attend and actively participate in regular working group meetings to shape the programme and collaborate with fellow volunteers.
  • Explore and deliver additional content, such as podcasts, interviews, articles, or panel discussions, to broaden the group’s reach.
  • Generate ideas that provide value to CFA UK members, promote inclusion, and highlight diverse voices across the industry.
  • Work closely with the staffed office to align event themes, speakers, logistics, and budget.
  • Promote the group’s activities through your CFA networks and on LinkedIn, in collaboration with the staffed office.

  • People comfortable hosting, moderating, or supporting discussions and events

How CFA UK Will Help
  • You will be supported by the staffed office, which brings expertise in operations, event delivery, and marketing, allowing volunteers to focus on content and connection.
  • The staffed office will manage:
  • Contracting with venues and suppliers
  • Marketing through CFA UK event listings, emails, and member channels
  • Operational and logistical support for event delivery

Participation is in a personal capacity, not as a representative of your employer
