Timeframe

6 months (Nov 23 to Apr 24)

Commitment

3 hours per month

Are you a passionate and expert practitioner of sustainable investing? CFA UK is seeking committed and enthusiastic members to propose a range of sessions and speakers for a flagship Sustainable Investing Conference in May 2024. In particular, if you have expertise in impact investing, climate investing or natural capital, we’d like to hear from you.

The Sustainable Investing Conference is the most important event in our 2024 calendar. It’s key to our mission to educate, connect and inspire the investment community to build a sustainable future. CFA UK is the industry-leader on sustainable investing qualifications and we will soon be launching the Certificate in Impact Investing having previously launched the Certificate in Climate and Investing. This conference will provide access to some of the experts who contributed to our qualifications and to the practical insights we have brought together.

Mission

Working closely with the CFA UK staffed office, you will advise on topics and speaker suggestions delivering a programme of engaging and educational content. We are looking for your advice and insights on the challenges practitioners are facing in their day-to-day roles.  We want members to come away with fresh insights, new ideas and new connections and your thought leadership role will help us achieve this!

Scope

The group will meet monthly to discuss ideas, hot topics and speakers. You will work through these ideas with subject matter experts in the staffed office -  this will be a collaborative process. We will be working to programme a short day conference with plenary sessions and two to three break out streams at points in the day. The staffed office will handle all operations and logistics including proving a programming framework for the day including timings.

Conference Programming Project Group activities

The conference programming project group will work closely with the staffed office, including the Director of Education, the Director of Customer Experience, the Head of Professional Learning and the Events Team. Group members will undertake the following activities;

  • Identify the right topics and speakers for the Sustainable Investing Conference – the aim is to engage and educate as many CFA UK members as possible
  • Meet virtually, working together as a group. If convenient for all participants, we can host meeting in person at the CFAUK Office.
  • Bringing suggestions and ideas to meetings, based on research and your experience working in the sector
  • Where there are connections making introductions to suggested speakers
